SCE student Vivian Hart selected as "Letters About Literature" contest finalist
Congratulations to Sugar Creek Elementary sixth-grader Vivian Hart on being named a finalist for the Letters About Literature finalist!
Letters About Literature is a reading and writing contest for students in grades 4-12. Students are asked to read a book, poem or speech and write to the author (living or dead) about how the book affected them personally. Letters are judged on state and national levels.
Tens of thousands of students from across the country enter Letters About Literature each year. At the state level, over 1500 students enter the contest this year. 109 of those, including Vivian, were selected as finalists.
All finalists are invited to participate in a workshop featuring several Indiana authors, and then an awards ceremony takes place. This years workshop and ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 27th at the Indiana State Library in downtown Indianapolis.
Vivian enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending time with her friends. Vivian, her family, and her teacher, Mr. Farmer, all plan to attend the awards ceremony on April 27th.
